A year ago, I embarked on my MUN journey with EDUCIS, not knowing it would lead me to an Executive Board position at ‘The Srijan School, Model Town.’ I was in Rajasthan when I got the interview call, and thanks to quick sessions with my mentor, I secured the role of a Rapporteur. Sharing the news with my family, I felt my younger brother’s excitement as he called me "Rappy Didi" and even started joining debates himself.
Back at school, I aimed to build interest in MUNs. I persuaded the management to let me recruit 30 students from the 11th grade for training. Without any help, I organized sessions and during autumn break, coordinated online meetings to keep everyone engaged. It was fulfilling to see students grow, and soon, they understood MUN basics like "lobbying."
The debate was on October 18, 2024. I worked tirelessly, from holding individual sessions to clarifying doubts, even giving up a family trip. On the big day, I served as rapporteur in UNGA, managing 200+ chits and working alongside an assistant who unfortunately fell ill. On day two, I received a memento, and later, celebrated as my friends Lakshika and Agrima won. The proudest moment was on the bus back when all my students raised their hands, eager to join future MUNs. It felt like a real milestone, marking the start of something new for my school.
